Wajid Ali Shah  (30 July 1822 – 1 September 1887) was the tenth and last Nawab of Awadh(now called Lucknow), holding the position for 9 years. Ram Asrey was established in 1805, hence we had the great honor of serving the last Nawab of Lucknow.  Believe it or not, once a topaz made of candy was presented to Nawab Wajid Ali Shah. It was so beautifully and intricately created that even a connoisseur like him could not guess its ingredients.

It is a great honour for the shop that it has served people round the globe during those times when the word of mouth was the only source of communication between the buyer and the seller.
